BleepingComputer.com: Mouse click acts like its double clicking

I recently had to re-format my pc and re-install all drivers due a virus. All is well now except my mouse is acting perculiar. Left button mouse click is acting like its double clicking, been through all my mouse settings and checked hardware/drivers installed correctly etc. Sometimes it does act as though it is single clicking though. My main problem is when I click and drag to highlight text, it will start highlighting but then stops or sometimes wont highlight. Hopefully you might know the sort of thing I'm talking about and probably know pf a fix.

My initial thought is get a new mouse.

Have you checked> Open My computer>Tools>Folder options>Double-click to open an item.
