Funny how so many people never think about their appliances until the break down :woot:

. Of course then its an emergency, and I must rush right over to their house, wave my magic wrench , blesss it with some holy WD-40 and fix it without the parts, or the time. I am informed that they have guests arriveing in an hour and a half. They give me something like - (does impression of snooty high society lady)"What? Oh no that wont do at all young man. I must have it done in one hour. I am sorry, but when they arrive I just cant have a 'repair person' in the home, you know. Oh heavens no that wouldnt do at all. My heavens no. What would the Ladies Guild of The Benevolent Benifactor think!?
LOL sure thing lady. One miricle coming up. :flowers:

(loads tools, leaves bill for Saturday call out @ $120/hr. 2hr. min. in outlieing areas. with note re: parts on order.) Believe it or not they actually pay the bill for the most part. Those that dont? Well there is me, a couple handymen that dont do electronic controls, :cool:

and the big appliance center outa the nearby metro city. They get 160 per on Saturday. :thumbsup:

God I love this backwoods podunk place sometimes. :inlove:

Odd, that Model comes back as a Frigidaire, and Kenmore...etc
Figures they have to have the one that's a pain to change

Whats wrong with it? Every Dryer that I ever had was plagued with the same problem. The wires feeding the thermostat would burn out, and I had to replace them every 6 weeks or so.

6 weeks?? Even at 6 months you doing something wrong. Stretching the spring or something

For the last 10 years of my career I worked on industrial laundry equipment
It takes me a little while to remember how to work on these toys
Plus trying to explain to someone over the phone what to do when they don't have a clue is a pain

Garmanma, i don't see why, me as long as i got's pitures and a screw driver, hammer and a general knowledge of which bad words apply where i'm always good ta go....

I can talk my daughters through just about anything
The only thing my one son-in-law knows how to use is a fancy cell phone and a gamepad

I used to be an appliance repairman...actually a MAYTAG REPAIRMAN...

I was always amazed at some of the calls I went on...

One lady complaind that her washer wasn't washing right...so I get to the address...
She takes me to the machine...NOW...
There are usually 3 different sizes of tubs in a washer...
STANDARD...
LARGE...
EXTRA LARGE...
She had a standard size tub and was washing or atleast trying to wash.... :thumbsup:

11 pairs of jeans...or at least trying to... :flowers:

I told her it was a good way to burn out the motor..
We also sold machines...NEW and USED with the used being checked out completely..
She asked if I could get some prices...
Then she comes back with "Can't you just replace the tub with a bigger one??"
I tried to explain that that it would be easier and cost about the same to just get a bigger one...
To make a long story short...She opted to talk to the Hubby...
He comes to the store...I go down the price list..
Tub
Motor
Wiring....etc etc etc
Take to thr front of the store show him a new and a used...
Our NEW ONES had 1 yr WARRANTY...Used we had a 90 day..
He bought a new one....We delivered...took the old one bsck to the store...Just outta curosity I stripped it down..
The wiring harness...most ALL of it had signs of being close to melting...capacitor on the motor was showing discoloration ...
So me n the ownwer decided to use that as a display...to SHOW people what could happen

For sure...I have 3 REALLY BIG screwdrivers
