Installing Ubuntu 9.04

For some reason when I install it (using the whole HD), it still prefers to read from the disc.

How do I get it to start from my HD?

you mean the cd rom ? if so just take the ubuntu cd out

Whenever I take out the CD-ROM, it'll tell me that it needs a CD and won't do anything until I put it back in. I've also went into my boot manager thing and changed it to HD but it still requires a CD.
