I have a question about developing mini apps for windows. I would like to learn a language or programming suite that would allow me to automate many tasks that I have to do on a day to day basis as a Computer Tech The trick being i would like a gui interface for the programmed task. What language would provide a way to rapidly accomplish this? Or would the solution be found in a dev suite of some kind. Forgive the ignorance and thanks in advance for any help.

How about using AutoIt? http://www.autoitscript.com/autoit3/

It uses simple BASIC like language. Primarily used to automate various tasks in windows.
