Another good free program you can install and run is Malwarebytes Anti-Malware 1.40 that will scan you're drive for any Malware related files and give you a chance to delete them all after the scan. Now it will depend on the amount of files you have on your drive but when I did a full scan a couple of days ago I have 2,000,000 + files on my drive and it took an hour and a half to do a full scan and its a new fast computer.

do you have xp or vista ?
the computer is better at encoding video and playing games but normal windows is not any faster
