Hi,

If I put a socket AM2 AMD CPU with an 1000mhz FSB into a Mobo with a 800mhz FSB will the CPU work?

(I know in Intels case this will not work.)

Thanks.

If the motherboard supports the processor.

The motherboard specs will list all processors which the board supports/works with.

To be honest...the board will probably work with other some other processors...but there's no guarantee and there's little reason to take a chance that the two won't click. A number of vendors who sell lower-end systems...do this sort of mixing/matching on some systems.

Processor support depends on the motherboard. Check your motherboard manufacturer's website to see if it will work.
