Hi There
I wanted to reformat a Toshiba Satellite Laptop. It has ms windows vista home premium sp1.
Ideally, Id like to reformat it and replace vista with XP. I am really not a fan of Vista... The laptop came with it installed.
Is there any way to get XP on it? Is it possible to use a CD from someone else's computer, or will it not authorize that?
If there is no way to switch it to XP, how would I simply go about reformatting vista? do i need the CDs still?
thanks

First two things you may want to do are. 1) If is still under warranty check with Toshiba to make sure doing this will not void any warranty.
2) Check the Toshiba support site to make sure XP drivers are available for your hardware.
Having done that you need a legit copy of XP.
Also, I do not think XP will allow you to install over Vista. You will need a third party software to first format the hdd.
