I have been trying to look at the opendns site, but it is very slow.

Should I be concerned?

Not at all. It was just a suggestion to keep porn away from your kid. You already seem to have some kind of child safety software installed. But you need to ask again, how effective that program is? If you can access porn while its installed and eating your ram and hard disk space, then whats the use of that program.

Could they do so through Excel without the sites popping up?

Good question for a healthy system. Your system seems to be infected by a virus, malware and a trojan. These malware bypass local methods of security to download and display ads and upload information from your computer. So the answer is: forget about excel, these malware can do it on their own. And yes they can access internet without you noticing.

As suggested two times by experts, DaChew and The weatherman, you should post a new topic in right section (Am I Infected) to have BC experts have a look at your system and help you get rid of these malware.

I think I can get rid of the malware. If I hit a snag, I will post. Thanks!

I think you misunderstand my Excel question. The Family Safety log shows the originating program of the web hit. He was going through Excel to go to boobies.com, so the log shows DATE, EXCEL, www.boobies.com, # of hits. When the malware accessed the web, the log showed DATE, b.exe, www.whatever...

My question was out of curiosity since the boy insisted that he did not see a flood of gay popups. My question was:

Has anyone here documented that these virus/trojans log onto gay porn sites without opening a browser window?

This is strictly for my education. I have searched the web and I am not seeing documented cases where this is so. There are a few people in jail for kiddie porn who are trying to use the trojan defense. I don't see that those folk have a lot of documented cases though.

The infection can originate from a web site, gets it's updates from servers there and then reports back with stolen information like your confidental financial data, banking etc. The porn sites can be just a cover or front operation.

No. Try not. Do... or do not. There is no try.
