Lock computer

Hello,

To lock a computer means that no-one can use it - right?
Can anyone explain how a computer is unlocked - does one need
a password for instance?

Hummmm I have wondered that as well & never hit the LOCK feature cause I was not sure if I could get back in. An explanation would be nice.

Lock means just that. It preserves the state of the system, and then locks it. the only way to open it back up is to supply the password for that account. Students at my university do that in the labs all the time, then walk away for the day. Then the only way to get back into the system is to use the admin password, or reboot the system. Incidentally, using the admin password does not unlock the user account, it just open up the admin account.

In my case I do not have a admin password, does Vista allow the locking function
anyhow and how is it unlocked w/o a password then?
