Hi, I have recently encountered a problem where I am unable to open any multimedia files on my PC.
I first noticed this when trying to play my Vonage voicemail wav file attachments in Outlook 2003 but when I logged into Vonage control panel I was unable to play them from there either.
My operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium and I have applied the updates from Windows Update regularly (as of today it is up to date).
The error message that appears when I try to open one of these file types is:
"Can`t create file: FILENAME.wav. Right click the folder you want to create the file in, and then click properties on the shortcut menu to check your permissions for the folder"
I do not know the folder where it is trying to save the file to as it does not display a Save As dialog where I can browse the folders.
I would be grateful for any guidance you can offer with fixing this problem.
Many thanks
PS. Not sure if this is the correct category for this post as it seems like a general error with Windows rather than just Outlook.
Matt
