going on newegg to shop for computer parts (thinkin bout upgrading) andi have a quick question. If i buy a motherboard that supports 240 pin ddr3 memory, dual channel. can i buy the g-skill 6gb ram that is triple channel and it still be compatible? And one more thing do i need to buy that thermal goop or does my heatsink (that ships with the processor) come with it? Thanks

Unless you are using a 64-bit operating system your computer will not recognize anything over 3.0 GB to 3.5 GB of RAM.
Most CPUs with the heat sink and fan usually will come with a either a thermal pad or compound, but it won't hurt to purchase a separate tube of thermal compound, like Arctic Silver.
