I am using xp SP3. My computer runs very slow when connected to the internet.
I have run spybot Search and Destroy and have an uptodate virus protection.
I don't have any extra programs on the startup menu
I don't find any processes running that are unnecessary.
I have run the check disk and defrag programs.
I am using an Air Card and have broad band internet access.
Can anyone give me some suggestions?
Thanks

I went there, but didn't see anything that I hadn't already tried.
EXCEPT, for running Spy Bot Search and Destroy and my Virus program in Safe mode.
In another topic I stated that my laptop shut down after a few minutes, maybe 5 to 10 minutes, and before the virus program and Spy Bot could finish.
I tried them each separately and the same thing happened each time.
The computer never shuts down automatically any other time.
Any ideas?
Thanks

I would suggest posting a topic in the Am I infected forum.

The Weatherman closed out my other post about my computer shutting down in safe mode.
I didn't think it was the same as this.
I have gone to tutorials and am trying Spyblaster and Ad-Aware to tackle my slow computer on the internet problem.
I am still looking for help as to why my laptop shuts down in safe mode when running spybot or Virus software.
Thanks

I tried the tutorial on removing Spyware etc.
It suggested Spyware blaster which identified several spyware and a couple of Trojans. But to remove them you must purchase the program.
I have run Spybot S & D and Antivirus from Grisoft.
Why do these not designate and remove these spyware/viruses identified by SpyBlaster?

SpywareBlaster is not a detection or removal tool. It is a preventative tool.

The free vers. of both Spybot S&D and AVG by Grisoft will (attempt) to remove everything they detect.

I have a feeling you may have downloaded a rogue program by mistake.
