Hmmm.... USB not working?

I bought a new 'Kingston Data Traveler G2 16GB' usb stick but whenever i plug it in it comes up as 'Removal Disc G' and wont let me open it? Says i need to format it?

Normally they come formatted in fat32 already. Have seen the problem you have happen on occasion.

Since you have not put any data on it yet go ahead and format it. That should get you going.

Are you attempting to format it through Computer Management? Does it even show in Computer Management?

Here is a little tool that has helped me in instances similar to yours.
