First an interesting flow chart about the moral and legal perplexity of downloading and ripping.

http://www.lnreview.co.uk/music/should_i_rip_this.html

Then an interesting site wanting you to call your congressman in regards the Induce Act which would make the forgoing dilemma a thing of the past.

Here I thought that this was a debate between ripping or shredding paper, for the purpose of destroying legal documents. tongue.gif

I could be convinced. I even had two monitors until the one I got at Goodwill for $3.95 turned red on me. I was planning on dual monitors if & when I installed another 512 RAM, man!! lmfao.gif Then I got side-tracked from that pursuit by the multi-taskin' you speak of. whistling.gif

Yes, we should be ashamed of ourselves for side-tracking this thread.

To keep this on-topic, allow me to share my opinion.

There will always be someone that wants something. In the age of the Internet, and the 'have to have it now' syndrome, we often do not take the time to consider what would happen with our actions. I am not saying that it is right, and I am not saying that it is wrong. I will say that the flowchart is informative.

Jason,

How about we open up a new thread on multi-screen use?

Are you talking about splitting a viewing screen on one monitor unit or just looking
at multiple monitors at the same time - mirrors or otherwise...

I use 4 monitors at the same time. All in my face viewing area.
(And my entire system is in a closet room about 6' x 8'.)

Two monitors with my 'puter systems, one satellite TV system for checking the "news" on commercial TV, and one security/grounds monitor.

I'd like to learn any special tricks other than the mirror gambit.
(Been there already, done that, and scared myself....)

E.G. I'd like to learn how to split screens other than toggling to another program if that's what you're talking about.

Or is this a moot point?

-Koan

I called three Congressional offices yesterday. Offered some words on the subject of Senate Bill 2560. Mostly on phone answering machines. (well, to be honest, only on answering machines.) We have more meaningful conversations here at bleeping computers. I think some of the best conversations in history were probably in front of old Remingtons & Smith-Coronas, though. blink.gif whistling.gif Where are the lobbyists for manual typewriters at a time like this??
