I write poems, essays, and research. I discovered that my filing and research is helped by the use of SeaMonkey as my default internet application; it supports multiple homepages; it is also helped to run multiple browsers in addition to SeaMonkey: K-Meleon, K M Lite, and IE 8. Each browser's homepage(s) are for some subject and interest; pages that I refer to regularly. I use Jarte as my word processor. I began with the free version, liked it so much, saw the added features in the paid version and bought it. It has buttons and links in it that I use for reference applications on the internet and on my computer, but mostly internet. The button for dictionary opens K-Meleon whose homepage is the American Heritage Dictionary. I have WordWeb Pro on my computer: you press control and right click a word and it springs forth with definition. The thesaurus button opens Mobysaurus. I have configured links to open ref sources from law to World Factbook of the CIA. The latter worthwhile, useful for middle, high school, and college folk - or any one. SeaMonkey is good default for home office. I get all my Comcast, RoadRunner, Yahoo, Gmail, and Inbox in SeaMonkey, but download Hotmail in Windows Live Mail. I get email from 14 boxes into two desktop programs, so it seems only two.
When traveling I check my email on my $10.00 Oystr phone from Virgin and carry an office on usb of Firefox, Thunderbird, Jarte, 7 Zip, ClamWin, and a few other apps. I am waiting for a portable SeaMonkey.
