When I browse the Internet at my house, I can type in a website such as google or facebook just by typing "google" or "facebook" into the address bar. Firefox automatically knows I want a "http://www" and a ".com" in there.

When I browse the Internet on my girlfriends computer I HAVE to type the www and the .com to get to the website. Otherwise I am redirected to a bresnan search page. (Usually with my result first, but then I have to click through, and it is a sponsored link. . .A.K.A bresnan is generating ad revenue)

Now, both computers are running XP, with the latest firefox installed. We both have Bresnan for our ISP's. Yet it works fine on my computer and not my girlfriends.

Any ideas on how to fix this problem on my girlfriends machine?

Thanks in advance!
