I used Killdisk to overwrite my hard drive. Done this on other computers, no prob. No matter what disk I put in the CD drive, then turn on computer, same message: "Error loading operating system". What to do?? Computer is Dell Inspiron 8100.

That message...would seem to imply that it's trying to boot, probably from the hard drive.

I think you need to change the boot options in the BIOS, resulting in the optical drive being the first option.

Windows cannot be loaded from a CD, it can only be installed. "Loaded" implies running, IMO.
