internet connection problem after 30-40 minutes internet get slow and then close automatically

hiiiii

I am using DSL modem my internet broadband speed is 256kbps.....and getting 35kb/s download speed

my problem is that when I connect the internet it works fine till 30-40 minutes but then after its speed decreases gradually and finally close automatically.........however in my modem the INTERNET connection light still showing that connection is on.............

please help me......
