I was recently plagued by the infamous google redirect malware known as "clickover.cn" and out of pure curiosity I've been wanting to run a Tracert on that address. But, my question is, does running a tracert leave your computer open to infection? I'm assuming that when you run a Tracert your opening a type of "chainlink gateway" between you and the target, so can the malware I got rid of come back through the chain and re infect me if I run a Tracert on it?

I don't have any particular reason to do this, but I have gotten curious about DOS commands, and have been fiddling around alot with it, and I've wanted to do this particular command out of pure curiosity.

Any suggestions or comments?

BUMP

I know ya'll are probably more worried about actual problems than petty inquiries, but I would like to get an answer at some point. No hurry though, I just don't want this to get lost in the pages upon pages of topics.

Malware is usually attached to some program or download to get to your computer
I believe you will be OK
