hi folks!

i have a problem solely with http uploads. ftp, scp, whatever, is no issue.

i am using windows vista, service pack 2, with all the latest upgrades.
the problem is persistant with ANY http connection; that is in internet explorer, firefox, opera, with youtube, using the flickr uploadr tool... it does not matter, it happens on ALL http uploads.

i do not have any issues with http downloads etc. though.

once i transmit the file in e.g. my browser, the status bar jumps to a full 100%. obviously, some kind of "bubble" in windows took over the transfer. when i KILL the process of my browser, the upload CONTINUES in the background, as can be seen in the task manager's network monitor. this also totally stalls the internet connection - the upload runs at max. speed.

i cannot cancel it anymore, unless i rip out the cable or restart the computer. my http upload disappears into an unreachable bubble and will continue until finished; it will finish properly, though.

this really bothers me, as it renders me unable to cancel an upload or use the internet while i am uploading. i never had that issue in xp.

i already played around with basically every "netsh interface tcp" setting. i disabled antivirus and antispyware software. i disabled the firewall, the windows defender... heck, i disabled the whole security center alltogether. i disabled some services that seemed to have to do with e.g. proxy / caching. NOTHING HELPED.

its also annoying that i cannot see the status of the upload, obviously; the browser never gets a response, it stays on "processing" forever; so i can only see when my upload is finished in the network monitor, when the load drops to idle again.

any suggestions are welcome, thanks a lot!

edit: to be exact, i am using windows vista home premium, 64 bit version, SP2, with all the latest updates.
