sound card sound

will i need a sound card or does the sound come thru the mobo

Depends on the system and/or the motherboard.

The motherboard has it's own onboard sound. You don't need to purchase a seperate card.

Most motherboards have on-board sound. Dedicated sound cards are great if you want higher quality sound, have a home theater setup, or make music.
