Important Announcement: We have two terrific contests running on the site that I wanted all our members and guests to know about.

The first contest is the HP Magic Giveaway, which is underway as of November 28th. More information can be found at this topic, which will be updated very soon with further information.

The second contests, is for the chance to win two Seagate FreeAgent external hard drives. More information about this contest can be found here.

These are both amazing contests and I suggest everyone submit an entry for them.

Hello peeps!

Just a quick question for developers out there to see if you use DOCTYPES in their source code.

I am a keen standards based web developer and I like to use valid source code. Part of my life is search engineering and I get called to engineer website for some clients that are truly terrible in terms of source code.

Whats everyones opinion?

Regards

Duenna

PS title was supposed to be "Go on who uses them?" sorry fat fingers!

I do, but am not sure if it really makes that much of a difference. SEO work is such a guessing game, that you are better off being as strict towards the specifications as you can , in case it matters.

Just doing random searches on google, though, makes me think it does not matter, but you never know for the future.
