I'm curious if there is a program or app that can tell you if you have duplicate programs or files on a HDD? I know that I have several on mine. I would like to get rid of them!

Duplicate files...should not necessarily be removed.

Various programs will install duplicates of existing files...but they won't be in the same place. The program installing such will not necessarily search for any file location, other than the one it installed by virtue of its setup routine. If the file is not there...then that program may not perform correctly.

These are a few Duplicate file checkers that are in existence. You can pick the one you like.
Be mindful that these should be DATA files only. Do not use this to remove application files, or program as those files may be needed
