Hi! i started up my computer but the mouse is frozen in the center at the welcome screen so cant enter my desktop.
so i pressed reset and then Del to enter BIOS.It goes into BIOS but the keyboard is frozen so I cant enter the options there.
Can anyone please tell me what could be the problem and its solution?
My motherboard is a Gigabyte GA-945GM-S2 and its two years old. Operating system is Win XP Pro.

Check the connections for mouse and keyboard...does the keyboard work normally in the BIOS?

hi! Hamluis
the connections for the mouse and keyboard are OK. they are both PS/2.
the keyboard just refuses to work in BIOS.
I used the mouse and keyboard on my friends computer and they work OK.

regards.

Hmmm...if the keyboard/mouse themselves are good, it points to a driver problem, IMO.

Since those load with XP...and you cannot get into Device Manager to remove them...I would have to suggest a repair install of XP. Seems like overkill just to get new drivers, but it's all I can think of.

Let's see if someone else has a better idea .
