My friend's Hp dv6700 is having problems after uninstalling Norton. Once she uninstalled and rebooted the computer was then stuck on a black screen after the weird swirly screen vista pops up. It also powers down right after turning it on, getting to the black screen isn't always guaranteed. I'm sorry if this is the wrong thread to post this problem in but any help would be appreciated.

Exactly how did she go about removing Norton, what steps did she take?

I think she went to control panel and removed it like that, so is the laptop just dead now?
