My computer seems to be operating fine, however yesterday, microsoft informed me of new updates to install. After installing, I was instructed to restart my computer, so I did. When my computer restarted, a black screen appeared and reads:
Smart failure predicted on hard disc o: Quantum firewall AS6O.O-(PM)
Warning: immediatly back-up your data and replace your hard disc drive. A failure may be imminent.
Press F1 to continue.
I pressed F1 and the black screen disappeared. Then the blue screen appeared and preformed a scan disc operation. Then started my computer. All works fine, however every time I restart my computer, The black screen with the warning appears.
Is my computer fried or is it a virus?

Backup data and get a new hard drive.
I am a retired Ford tech. Next to Fords, any computer is a piece of cake. (The cake, its not a lie)

You're lucky that it hasn't failed yet. Backup all important data you care about immediately, stop using that drive, and get a new one as dpunisher said. If you have nothing to backup to, stop using the drive and transfer it to the new one when you get it. If you're lucky you should have enough life in it to get your data transferred.
