I'm not sure if this is the right forum for asking this. In any case, the usual caveats apply.
I wanted to ask: Is there any way to actually split a compressed ZIP file into multiple parts, so as to save space on my HDD? If so, please instruct me how. I use IZArc as my file archiver, and my OS is Windows XP Pro.

Splitting a compressed file will make both subsequent files larger, even if you rezip each of them, because of the extra overhead of maintaining them. Can you simply copy the zipped file to disk or perhaps store it online somewhere?

why won't my laptop work?
Having grandkids is God's way of giving you a 2nd chance because you were too busy working your butt off the 1st time around
Do not send me PMs with problems that should be posted in the forums. Keep it in the forums, so everyone benefits

Well, I can't really do that, since the ZIP file is around 11 GB in size! But...are they gonna be larger? Really?

Yes, for example, you split your 11 GB file into 4 parts. You have the original 11 GB of information. Plus add the now 4 new bits of header information to describe the new subdivisions, plus the zip file info to the original 11GB, you have a larger overall zip package. However each individual package is smaller than the original. But in totality it's larger due to the information added by the zip program to each separate file.
The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.
