i made the switch from vista to xp (hp pavilion dv2000) which went smoothly but i have 3 base system devices that do not have the driver to run them.

i have looked a little around but have not had any luck finding the correct drivers

base system device id's:
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_30B5103C&REV_0A\4&3A3249AB&0&4B80
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_30B5103C&REV_01\4&3A3249AB&0&4A80
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0852&SUBSYS_30B5103C&REV_05\4&3A3249AB&0&4C80

if someone could point me where to find the drivers for these it would be much appreciated thanks in advance.

Don't know if this is any help but half way down on the left of the screen in the link below there is a free trial program called Driver Genius. I saw it this afternoon and have been contemplating giving it a try.

downloaded the program that you suggested. i was kind of hoping i would not have to make a purchase to get the drivers without buying a copy of the program driver genius just states that these drivers can be updated if you buy it

You may be able to find what you need HERE once you get a bit more model specific.

i navigated to my models driver page and downloaded every driver on this page:
http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...roduct=3439334#

the 3 devices are still "base system devise" and not working.

Did not look into the specs. of your lap top. But doing a Google for "base system device" suggests that it might involve a card reader. Does your lap top have one. I have seen similar problems that were solved my simply plugging in the proper type of media. It seem`s to wake Windows up and make it realize what the device is. It will then either install the driver, search for it or at the least identify the device more clearly and give you the chance to get the proper driver.

SD/MMC are types of smart media cards. Do you have slots for smart media.

That page points to the 2415, not a 2000. Have you tried HERE to be sure you have the correct model?

Looking at the info. on the 2415 says it does have and support smart cards, but under Vista. PDF manual is the second link down. I have seen times when smart readers are not recognized until a media card is inserted.
