Hi everyone, I feel kind of stupid posting two RAM related questions in one day but what the hay. While dealing with my other RAM issue I bought some RAM for my gf's 2006 iMac. This was not from Apple directly, it was Corsair brand I bought at Fry's. After installing it the computer started up and worked just fine, after a while though my gf was using the internet and the screen just went blank like the machine turned off. I then powered it down and restarted, she continued using the internet but the machine crashed and went into a continuous startup/crash cycle. I then removed the RAM and installed the old one.
Do Mac's need fairly high end RAM in order to not have issues? I didn't really want to spend $100 for 2GB of RAM from Apple if I didn't have to.
Thanks
