Since downloading some Windows updates when I turn on my computer it says it is installing 3rd of 3 applications but then simply restarts repeatedly and so never actually reaches my desktop screen. Hence I can't use the Start button / System Restore etc. Is there anyway of sorting this out. I don't have an installation disc just a Vista OS disc which asks me whether I wan't to reinstall Vista which I don't!!
It is a Windows Vista Premium OS (32 bit) on a Dell desktop computer.

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Check your documentation and try restarting in Safe mode. Usually you just need to click F8 during boot to have the system give you the boot options. Once there you may just want to role back your windows updates or go back to your last restore point.
