BleepingComputer.com: Hard drive upon click

Hi there,

Last day, while watching a video my monitor turned blue screen. So i reset my pc. Upon boot, it prompt me of missing files. So I tried to reboot with windows XP installer to fix my OS. Then while the fix is setting up, i noticed that Drive C does not contains anymore files... 19, xxx MB free... Actually, it doesn't matter to me anymore coz i'd already manage to reinstall new OS, its running now, aside from my Drive D. I have a 40Gb hard disk, partitioned, so two drives of 20Gb capacity. The problem is, when i'm opening drive D, command prompt is popping up(without any characters written) then suddenly it closes. I really need to recover the files on that drive very badly.

Can any1 help me pls?

Tnx for the reply.

The files can still be recovered but it was confirmed that my drive D has a virus named camfrog.exe located d:\Tondana\camfrog.exe. AVG free can't even detect it.

Can i delete it manually in cmd prompt?
Any1 please help. Tnx in advance for the help...

Note: Be careful when your working in CMD, since you can potentially create other problems in the process.

Deleting a malware file...doesn't necessarily eliminate the effects of the malware upon the system.

In fact...it doesn't even provide conclusive evidence that all malware files have been removed, as proven by your install of AVG.
