Starting a few months ago, my computer would occasionally either freeze or reset when I'm either loading a game, or I have to go to a menu to save a game. But now its getting worse and worse to where I'm lucky to get a game to load up or save properly. The computer never does this when I'm actually playing a game, only when I'm loading up a level or I have to go to a menu to save. Its starting to get rather frustrating. I have the latest drivers for everything. I keep the inside of the computer clean. My power supply is more than sufficient. And it doesn't matter if I run the game on very low or very high specs. Any ideas what may cause this to happen?

Current games playing:
Far Cry
Company of Heroes
Command and Conquer 3, Kanes Wrath

Specs:
RAM 2 GB, 800Mhz, Dual Channel
GPU Nvidia Geforce 8800 GT OC
Processor AMD Athlon 64 x2 Dual Core Processor 6000+

My motherboard, processor, GPU, power supply and RAM are less than a year old. My hard drive is 2-3 years old.

Have you ran a defrag on the hard drive lately, even if it says the volume doesn't need to be defragged?

Also, open command prompt and type "chkdsk". This will run a checkdisk scan on your hard drive to scan for bad sectors.
