Hi
I am building my first PC. I have a question about power supplies. My mother board has a 24 pin power plug. Is there an advantage to using a power supply that has a 24 pin MB plug on it. I understand that you can use a PS 20 pin ona MB 24 pin by inserting in the first 20 pins. If any more infor is required for an answer let me know and I will post it.

Thanks

Jim Allen

the extra 4 pins are there for more power... i know they give power to something i havent been keeping up with the news word-for-word but they have a purpose. i think they are for an extra 12vdc, but i have seen boards with the 12vdc connector in the middle of the board right by the SATA and the RAM. man i need to catch up.
