BleepingComputer.com: Virtual keyboard problems

Don't know where to post this,so please redirect.
Ever since updating to the latest version of Firefox 3.5.1, my virtual keyboard from Kaspersky 2009 (combo firewall+anti virus) will not work thru Firefox. It does work in I.E., but I prefer using Firefox for everything!

I went to the Kaspersky forum for help, did a system check+removed Spybot Search+Destroy using Revo uninstaller.
The problem still persists using Firefox. Some "advanced" member at Kaspersky suggested I do a complete uninstall of Firefox, then reinstall. I don't know how on earth to do this+definitely don't want to lose all my bookmarks!

I've posed this problem at the Mozzila forum also, but have not heard back.

Just an fyi-there seemed to be a bit of bickering between 2 of the members at the Kaspersky forum, which leaves me uncomfortable in getting the help I need.

Interesting that not one mention from any advice you have been given suggests uninstalling Kaspersky and reinstalling it. Has that been attempted? Also as long as you make a copy of your Firefox user profile and don't delete that you won't lose your bookmarks. In the unlikely event they become corrupted during the browser uninstall mentioned. You can reinstall them with the backup profile.

Animal, no....it wasn't suggested to uninstall KIS, but rather to upgrade to KIS 2010. I'm not quite ready for that ....yet.

Make a copy of my Firefox user profile?????? Haven't a clue on how to do that,I ashamed to admit.

I'll need some in depth guidance doing all this....sigh.

Just wondering, is there a way to copy over some of my bookmarks to IE? I use the VK for all my financial stuff.

I won't be able to attempt it tonight. I'll try to "muddle" thru it all tomorrow. It still sounds a bit scary tho. My biggest question is...where does this backup information go? Am I supposed to do the backup9hopefully), then delete Firefox via add/remove programs, then reinstall?

Also, how do I get everything back to Firefox the way I had it to begin with? That's what I really don't understand.

And uninstall Kaspersky?????? That is totally scary! So you're advising to do the Firefox thing first, then uninstall,then reinstall KIS 2009? Is that correct?

Oh, and Mark, thank you for the helpful link. I went to IE +managed to import all my Firefox bookmarks to there as well. Had to pay more bills+it was nice being able to use the virtual keyboard again, even if it was thru IE. Only one site didn't let me use the keyboard, but I'm hoping my info got thru safely.
