Hi all,

I am buying a camera for my birthday! Any suggestions??? I am looking to spend around $500 for a digital.

Thanks!

do the research for cameras that are in your price range, look for the features that YOU want, not what anyone else on here tells you. what i might want isn't necessarily what you want. there are several sites online that will give you a review of digicams, just do a little digging before you make your choice, just be sure to always get the "best" you can afford to buy.

Thanks for the reply.

I do, and did do some researching. I follow what the experts say, but also weigh in on the opinions of those who have the camera in their hands.

well what kind of camera do you want/looking for, maybe there are some people in here that may have that camera, you may want to look in the graphics design/photo editing forum for people that may have what you are looking for, just a thought....

I would like an 5 to 7 mpixel camera with manual controls. So far I am considering a Minolta Dimage Z5 or a Nikon Coolpix 7900 - looking to see if these completely fit.

Thanks Maj

Do not buy any camera until you read some reviews on what you are wanting to buy.

I suggest you go to Sears,Bestbuy,Circuit City,Office Max and Office Depot and look for cameras. Make a list of what you like and prices. Then go to this site and look each camera up and read a review.

When your done you can choose the camera thats best for you and works well according to the reviews!

Hope this helps!
