It looks good, but I'm not sure if buying DDR3 RAM for that motherboard would be cost effective or increase performance that much. You may be better off using DDR2 RAM with that motherboard. Also, an AMD system may be less expensive, depending on the country and the retailer.

In other words AMD is cheaper from anyone, anywhere

lol anyway, if i were u i would get a quad core, dual cores are gettin old

Heyy =D
Hope someone's still watching this after such a long time =O
Plans have changed somewhat:
Scan.co.uk, the site I was using for my components, has stopped selling the GPU I'd picked out, so I had to pick another one: Here
Plus, I thought that it cpuld be advantageous for me to have a 2nd optical drive, so I've decided to get another of the same (Here)
Otherwise, here's my checklist:
Case check
Mobo check
CPU check (though I am looking into a quad core alternative)
RAM check
GPU check
HDD check
CDD 2x check
PSU check
Sound check
Network check
Monitor: no check. I'm just looking for one...
Bringing us to: £633.09 ($1,038.95)

So, how's my system so far?
there are 10 types of people: those who understand binary, and those who don't
