My boot logo screen now takes about a full minute to pass, it previously only took about seconds, and when i try to boot from cd it comes up saying:
boot from cd: _
then it stays on that, even when i press any buttons it doesnt do anything.
and i have tried it with xp disk and vista disk, get the same problem so its not the disks.
also i have tried to do an update while the computer is started up but when its copied all the files and has restarted it has a problem updating aswell with both installs.
my computer used to boot cd's without a problem but it is since it is taking about 1 minute to pass the boot logo this problem has started and i dont know why.

Well spotted. Gremlins in the box mucking about with your cable connections?
Never mind ... it happens to the best of us.
Good luck.
