Does anyone know where I can get a simple, free converter to convert MP3 file to WAV file?

Open Audacity. Then:
File -> Open -> (look for your .mp3 file)
After you have opened your .mp3 file:
File -> Export as Wav

Search google or Download .com for FREE mp3→Wav converters. There are plenty. But try to D/L from download.com ONLY.
I used Pazera free Audio extractor 1.2. Very good program.

iTunes (which you've probably already got!) can do it too... if you go to iTunes > Preferences, and go to the "Import Using" dialog, you can choose what format you want to be able to convert songs to. Then you can select a song (or a whole folder of songs if you want), go to the Advanced menu, select "Create WAV version", and it will make a copy of your MP3(s) in WAV format.
good luck!

I could find no freeware program that would fully satisfy my needs. I use a commercial solution and never regret it. Its advantage is the high speed conversion of multiple files. At the same time, quality of the resulting wav is very good.So I found a program AudioConverter Studio. All you need to do is drag and drop files to the program window and click its convert button. The program is not free, but it has already paid off because of its performance.
