I transferred my files and settings to new computer and now my PDFs do not work and I am unable to print. I get an error saying that I need to install a printer when I have already installed one. Any suggestions?

Have you installed a ,pdf reader on the new computer?
Instead of Adobe, try Foxit

You need to reinstall the driver for your printer
What is the make and model of the printer?
