I installed a new internal sata hard drive into a 2005 Gateway 5014. I used the gateway recovery cd, Windows XP media. Everything seems to be working okay with the exception to the ethernet card. I called my broadband provider and they said the new hard drive is not recognizing the ethernet card and it is a gateway issue.

Gateway says my warranty is no longer in service.

How do I get the driver to install so it will operate properly?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Go to Device Manager.

Uninstall the NIC, if it is installed.

Besed on info you provided, this should be your NIC drivers.

Reboot the sytem and install those.

Note: When visiting the Gateway site, there are 3 models of system based on the data you provided. You may be better off entering your serial number to acquire drivers at the Gateway site.
