Brief History:

Nearly 2 years ago my computer died on me and my hard drives have been collecting dust till now.

2- 3.5 160gb raid 0 config, no partician.

Currently:

Just recieved my raid 0 enclosure. Windows was unable to locate my device. I decided to run photorec to retrieve the data, but it was far too messy for me to sort through. I started using ZAR and have found that it is much easier to manage (keeps the trees and file names) but I've been waiting for the night time deal before I purchased it.

After going through all of this I've found two virus on my external hard drives but it seems as if the sectors aren't damaged, because I've been able to access the information without any problems through these programs.

The questions I am asking are:

Am I going in the right direction? If not what should I do? Maybe try a different file manager that can see things windows cannot?

What applications should I use to get my data? Freeware would be perferable, but nothing too expensive please.

Thank you for your help.
