Issue 1 When leaving my machine of for a period of time I get this error: "THe application failed to initalize propoerly (0XC000012D) click on OK to terminate." This error occours on all applications I try and run so I have to reboot. From looking on a few other forums and other peoples posts this error is usually down to RAM failure or to many SCVHOST.EXE I have downloaded Memtest86+ 2.11 and run it. My RAM passed. So i assume my ram is all ok. I have run: Norton 360 full - all clean PC tools Spyware Doctor - all clean SDFIX - all clean spybot serach and destory - all clean also I have run the following in command prompt I make sure that all dll and ocx permisions are ok. CACLS %systemroot%\System32\*.dll /E /G BUILTIN\Users:R CACLS %systemroot%\System32\*.ocx /E /G BUILTIN\Users:R I have downloaded Process Explorer which I have read can help me identify which processes are going wrong to cause my error. I am not sure how to use this program to diagnose/fix my error, so some help would be great. How do I use Process Explorer to diagnose which SCVHOST.EXE is causing the problem? Issue 2 My PC freezes when the black screen with the XP logo is fading in. I can kinda see a faded XP logo, but it doesnt shift from this screen. (this first XP screen with the blue status bar at the bottom) This only happens ever so often but i have to turn off and on again. Can anyone help with this error too. My PC stats (captured from Memtest86+ and System Properties Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @2.40Ghz P35/G33 3.25 GB of Ram (333hmz (ddr666) OS Microsoft XP Professional SP3 To be complete i have also run HijackThis: Logfile of Trend Micro HijackThis v2.0.2 Scan saved at 22:58:35, on 09/07/2009 Platform: Windows XP SP3 (WinNT 5.01.2600) MSIE: Internet Explorer v8.00 (8.00.6001.18702) Boot mode: Normal Running processes: C:\WINDOWS\System32\smss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\csrss.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\winlogon.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\services.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MsMpEng.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\Ati2evxx.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\spoolsv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support\bin\AppleMobileDeviceService.exe C:\Program Files\AskBarDis\bar\bin\AskService.exe C:\Program Files\AskBarDis\bar\bin\ASKUpgrade.exe C:\Program Files\Bonjour\mDNSResponder.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jqs.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Update\1.2.183.7\GoogleCrashHandler.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\LightScribe\LSSrvc.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\VS7DEBUG\MDM.EXE C:\Program Files\Microsoft LifeCam\MSCamS32.exe C:\Program Files\Norton 360\Engine\3.0.0.135\ccSvcHst.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\PnkBstrA.exe C:\Program Files\Norton 360\Engine\3.0.0.135\ccSvcHst.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\10.0\SharedCOM\RoxWatch10.exe C:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor\pctsAuxs.exe C:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor\pctsSvc.exe C:\WINDOWS\Explorer.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\svchost.exe C:\Program Files\UPHClean\uphclean.exe C:\Program Files\Spyware Doctor\pctsTray.exe C:\WINDOWS\vVX1000.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\Program Files\Canon\MyPrinter\BJMyPrt.exe C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\MOM.exe C:\Program Files\Windows Defender\MSASCui.exe C:\Program Files\Google\Google Desktop Search\GoogleDesktop.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\10.0\SharedCOM\RoxWatchTray10.exe C:\Program Files\Roxio\CinePlayer\DMXLauncher.exe C:\WINDOWS\RTHDCPL.EXE C:\Program Files\ATI Technologies\ATI.ACE\Core-Static\ccc.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\NOTEPAD.EXE C:\Program Files\iTunes\iTunesHelper.exe C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\LightScribe\LightScribeControlPanel.exe C:\Program Files\Nokia\Nokia PC Suite 7\PCSuite.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\ctfmon.exe C:\Documents and Settings\SAMSUNG\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Update\1.2.183.7\GoogleCrashHandler.exe C:\Program Files\Logitech\SetPoint\SetPoint.exe C:\Program Files\Common Files\Logishrd\KHAL2\KHALMNPR.EXE C:\Program Files\Common Files\Roxio Shared\10.0\SharedCOM\RoxMediaDB10.exe C:\Program Files\iPod\bin\iPodService.exe C:\Program Files\PC Connectivity Solution\ServiceLayer.exe C:\WINDOWS\System32\alg.exe C:\Program Files\PC Connectivity Solution\Transports\NclMSBTSrv.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\rundll32.exe C:\Documents and Settings\SAMSUNG\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe C:\Documents and Settings\SAMSUNG\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe C:\Documents and Settings\SAMSUNG\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe C:\Documents and Settings\SAMSUNG\Local Settings\Application Data\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe C:\Documents and Settings\SAMSUNG\My Documents\Downloads\HiJackThis.exe C:\WINDOWS\system32\wbem\wmiprvse.exe R0 - Hello azreal1983,
I have moved your Topic that included a HijackThis log here to the Misplaced HJT Logs forum. You posted your log in a forum not intended for HijackThis logs analysis. We can only allow topics with such logs in the HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal forum. This restriction is to ensure you get the best help available, from those who specialize in malware anlaysis and removal. It also should prevent you from receiving ineffective or even potentially dangerous advice, whether well meaning or not. We understand that dealing with malware issues and getting help can be frustrating but improperly posting a log usually happens if you missed the directions we provide to those who require malware removal assistance. Prior to posting a log, we ask that you please read and follow all instructions in the pinned topic titled Preparation Guide For Use Before Posting A Hijackthis Log. Following the steps in this Guide will allow the HJT Team to quickly help you with specific fixes for what may remain on your system. Please complete all the steps in the Guide. If you can't perform a step, then skip it and continue with the next. In Step 6 there are instructions for downloading and running DDS which will create a Pseudo HJT Report as part of its log. When you have completed those steps, start a new topic in the HijackThis Logs and Malware Removal forum as directed in the Prep Guide to post a new log. Please DO NOT post any more logs to this topic, or post a log again in the wrong forum. The Misplaced HJT Logs forum is strictly a holding area where the BC Staff can assist you with preparations for and to properly post your log. If you have a question or encounter a problem in the Prep Guide, please do post back to this topic; that is what it is here for. When your new DDS/HJT log is posted in the proper forum, please reply to this topic with a link to your new topic. Once that is done, a Member of the HJT Team will analyze your log and assist you with step by step instructions to clean your computer or otherwise advise what needs to be done. Thanks for your cooperation and good luck. The BC Staff |

my new thread http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic240392.html I have done as you ask Hello azreal1983,
I have moved your Topic that included a HijackThis log here to the Misplaced HJT Logs forum.

Hello,
Thanks for posting back with the link. Now that your log is properly posted, you should NOT make further changes to your computer (install/uninstall programs, use special fix tools, delete files, edit the registry, etc) unless advised by a HJT Team member, nor should you ask for help elsewhere. Doing so can result in system changes which may not show in the log you already posted. Further, any modifications you make on your own may cause confusion for the helper assisting you and could complicate the malware removal process which would extend the time it takes to clean your computer. From this point on the HJT Team should be the only members that you take advice from, until they have verified your log as clean. Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response because the HJT Team members are EXTREMELY busy working logs posted before yours. They are volunteers who will help you out as soon as possible. Once you have made your post and are waiting, please DO NOT make another reply until it has been responded to by a member of the HJT Team. Generally the staff checks the forum for postings that have 0 replies as this makes it easier for them to identify those who have not been helped. If you post another response there will be 1 reply. A team member, looking for a new log to work may assume another HJT Team member is already assisting you and not open the thread to respond. Please be patient. It may take a while to get a response but your log will be reviewed and answered as soon as possible To avoid confusion, I am closing this topic. Good luck with your log.
