OE 6 won't send out email messages

I use OE 6 for my pop account. I created an email w/ attachments (which I have concluded is too big to send) and it hasn't sent it and won't let me delete it to redo it. Everytime I open the program up, click on outbox and try to click on the email and press delete, the program stops responding. Any suggestions on how to fix this issue?
