Hi,
My AOL connection is standard 2Mb, and some programs, patches and uploads etc download quite fast at over 200 kb/s, but every so often I have to dowmload something that takes literally hours, for example it just took me 2 hours 11 mins to download a 116Mb game upgrade at 15 kb/s!
Is there any way to speed up sluggish downloads by tweaking something at my end or what?
Thanks

Speed up downloads?

There are a multitude of factors that could come into play with regards to a slow download. One being the server you are downloading from. Also it may be a a traffic problem with routing from the server to you. Multiple 'hops' where it gets bottle necked somewhere along the line. If it is a chronic problem with every download then it may be on your end. If it is a random thing on occasional same sized downloads. It quite likely is not a problem on your end. But anywhere along the digital pathway between you and where ever the download comes from.
The Internet is so big, so powerful and pointless that for some people it is a complete substitute for life.
