Protecting computer

apparently all id needed to fully protect my compy is:

avira, comodo firewall, hijackthis, malwarebytes, and peerguardian. is there anything else that youd recommend? thanks :thumbsup:

I personally use Avira Anti-Vir, Comodo for my firewall, Malwarebytes as a weekly scan for infections and Hijackthis for random scans just to ensure my logs are clean.

If you do not have advanced knowledge about computers or training in malware investigation, you should NOT fix anything with tHijackThis without consulting a expert as to what to fix. Using this tool incorrectly could adversely impact your system.

I only have NOD32 Antivirus with Antispyware, ZoneAlarm and Tuneup utilities. Works perfect for me.

SuperAntiSpyware to use as an on demand scanner, it often finds differerent things that Malwarebytes does. I would also immunize the system with Spybot and, unless it is running Vista, SpywareBlaster.

Using Firefox with WOT and Adblock Plus would greatly help in preventing your computer from getting infected.

You are welcome. I have read on here somewhere that SpywareBlaster either isn't needed with Vista, or isn't compatible. I cannot remember which one it was though.

I am sorry but I do not remember. I just know that when I recommended it to someone using Vista others came along and said it was not needed with that operating system.
