AAC to MP3 converter Can anyone recommend a good one

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone can recommend a good converter programme that will convert my AAC files to MP3. I am looking to convert my ITunes library (approx 12 GB) to MP3 and would like to convert it all while still keeping files/album/artist structure. I have looked at noteburner but it only does playlists and I have also looked at allmusicconverter but wasnt so sure about it. Would appreciate any advice people can give. A free programme would be great but I dont mind paying to get something that will actually work.

After a quick search on google i came across this post with various ways of achieving this goal.
You need to watch out for DRM (copy protection) too on such files from itunes.

The link recommended in the other post refers to a programme called tunebite has anyone used it before and did they find it any good?

I am afraid im not into the aac game much. i do so much audio editing but not using aac lol. unfortunatley tunebite is not a program i know sorry!!

hi, you should go on download.com and read about it there, I have downloaded it from there and there are some good reviews about it. I use it, too, but an older version and now I'm thinking of upgrading it. But I know for sure that it can convert AAC to MP3 files.

Open iTunes and put in the library the tracks you wish to convert.

Go to EDIT->Preferences

In the GENERAL TAB click "Import Settings"

Choose "MP3 Encoder" and "high quality" or "iTunes Plus"

Press OK

Again OK

And you are ready.

Highlight the tracks you want to convert (pressing Ctrl+A will highlight all the songs) and then right click -> Create mp3 version.

It's very easy, good luck :thumbsup:

The tracks will be stored in your Music Folder->iTunes Music

Click Start Downloading that will take you to the next page, Scroll down until you see download
and use then on the next page scroll all the way to the bottom.

I know a pain to get to the actual download link but well worth it

You can do that with Free M4a to MP3 Converter. It's a freeware tool. You can simply drag and drop M4a or AAC files and then hit "Convert". Moreover, this program has a user-friendly interface and converts files with high speed.
