BleepingComputer.com: wf is wrong with my computer?!!?!

Obviously its a dell so its a piece of crap, but ive put my own parts in it. and its lasted me quite a while.

Nvidia Geforce 6800 GT graphics card

then the screen shows nothing after than. almost like the screen went into sleep mode or something. virus? graphics card? motherboard? damaged hardware? wtf is wrong with this thing? and how do i fix it??

Looks like a video card that has been either overclocked and over heated or just simply has overheated and will no longer hold up.

Looks like it's time to replace the video card.

It's all going to depend on where the video segments are in the video memory on the video card itself. It's also going to depend on the heat on the video processor (GPU) at the same time.

As this thing gets hot the video probably gets worse. In other words, as you leave the computer run the video probably gets much worse on the screen.

I would replace the video card and retry.

You may also want to see if there's a firmware for the video card itself as that too could cause similar but not identical issues.
