I have purchased this hard drive:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx...N82E16822136284

Western Digital 1TB 32MB Cache 7200RPM

I want to know if it is necessary to flash the BIOS on my MSI 648 Max Motherboard running on a Medion MD 8000 XL Computer. I am afraid the drive wont work unless I flash it. Should I be worried? The serial number of my computer is 11110010170053. I have a fear with flashing the BIOS cause i have heard that it can destroy a computer. I dont have much experience with computers and dont want that to happen. HELP PLEASE!!!!

Hi, the drive you have purchased is not compatable with your system but you can buy this product to convert it to ide. http://www.satagear.com/SATA_to_IDE.html
As for the bios wait and see if it works before you have to flash it.

When you retire that old computer both the new drive and card should prove useful in a new one.

You are welcome
