I have purchased this hard drive:

Western Digital 1TB 32MB Cache 7200RPM

I want to know if it is necessary to flash the BIOS on my MSI 648 Max Motherboard running on a Medion MD 8000 XL Computer. I am afraid the drive wont work unless I flash it. Should I be worried? The serial number of my computer is 11110010170053. I have a fear with flashing the BIOS cause i have heard that it can destroy a computer. I dont have much experience with computers and dont want that to happen. HELP PLEASE!!!! :thumbsup:

Hi, the drive you have purchased is not compatable with your system but you can buy this product to convert it to ide. http://www.satagear.com/SATA_to_IDE.html
As for the bios wait and see if it works before you have to flash it.

For that old a computer and such a large drive I would reccomend a controller card, maybe even an external case with e-sata also

Will the 1TB Hard Drive work at full capacity on that SATA Card?
