DO NOT post a ComboFix log unless requested to.
Only members of the Malware Response Team or Moderators are allowed to help people with logs. Anyone else should refrain from posting to another user's log.
When posting a log please put the type of infection you have in the topic title. IE: Winfixer, Virtumonde, WinTools, WebSearch, Home Search Assistant, etc.
Do not bump your topic. We try to resolve logs on a first come/first served basis. By bumping your log you will be pushed back in line due to the new date of your bump.

Hi,
Great Now tell me how your computer is running. When you reboot do you get any error messages? We still have to do some program clean up. -------------------- |

Yay!
The computer seems to be running fine. I don't get any error messages on reboot. I haven't turned AVG or Defender back on yet - can I do that now? |

Hi,
Yes, you can do that. I'll be back in a short time with a clean up script. This post has been edited by SifuMike: Jul 3 2009, 07:10 PM -------------------- |

Hi LornaRose,
Delete Security Check from your desktop. Uninstall ComboFix, go to to Start > Run & type in ComboFix /u Make sure there's a space between Combofix and / Then hit enter. This will uninstall Combofix, delete any of its related folders and files (Qoobox VundoFix Backups, Avenger, _OTM3), reset your clock settings, hide file extensions, hide the system/hidden files and resets System Restore again. Please read and follow Simple and easy ways to keep your computer safe and secure on the Internet as well Groovicus' Guide to Simple PC Security to help keep yourself from becoming infected again, as well as How did I get infected?, With steps so it does not happen again! as well as How to prevent Malware' by miekiemoes If you want to improve speed/system performance after malware removal, take a look here. -------------------- |

Done, and ComboFix is uninstalled. Those links are full of great information - I will be sure to read them thoroughly and pass them on to at least my brother in law (whose computer I'm working on).
Is that it? Do I need to do anything else? Do you think the computer is still secure? This post has been edited by LornaRose: Jul 3 2009, 07:53 PM |
