BleepingComputer.com: Problems Installing Coupon Printer

Hello,

For weeks I've been trying to download a Coupon Printer, but I keep getting the same message. Kraft website uses Coupon Printer for their coupons in order to get the bar code to appear when they're printed.

The message I keep getting seems to be from Webroot AnitVirus and AntiSpyware. It appears in the lower right corner of the screen and says something about a quarantine. Well, when I went through my quarantine list I didn't really know what I was looking for or what to do if I found what I was looking for.

Here is a picture of the screen and the error message. The error message is in the lower right corner.

Direct link for download, this will start download of the Coupons program, download to desktop or whatever folder you want and double-click when finished.

That was the same link that I've been using, but I tried it again anyway. This time I got an additional error message along with the message about the file system shiled quarantining something. Here is the new image I got, and this one has a better view of the message that appears in the lower right corner.

What is happening is that your security software (Webroot) is doing its job and protecting you. Coupon Printer is considered Adware by some Antivirus', see HERE.

Some very good advice:


Even the very best firewall, AV and anti-malware programs (paid or free) will not protect you if you engage in unsafe practices such as:

1) Opening or responding to email from unknown senders
2) Opening email attachments (even from known senders) without saving/scanning them first
3) Visiting porno sites
4) Using websites that offer "cracks" (warez) to avoid paying for a program
5) Using p2p (peer-to-peer) file-sharing programs to download free music, movies etc
6) Not keeping your applications, browser, and operating system updated and patched
7) Downloading programs that you do not know are absolutely safe, and from reputable websites
8) Allowing children/teenagers (or anyone else, for that matter) unsupervised access to the internet
9) Giving out personal ID/passwords/credit card info to websites or emails you are not absolutely sure are secure. [Secure sites begin with https, rather than simply http ; and a 'lock' image should appear somewhere on your browser toolbar].
